League highlights compiled weekly by the illustrious Freight Cabbage

Week 3 started with 9 undefeated teams, but we're now down to only 5!

Premier - Atlas and Maulers

Challenger - Flyers and Rhythm

Rising Star - Rhythm

The Atlas Premier team lead by Ambrosia continues their success in their inaugural season now 3-0 in league play averaging 2.54 goals per game (2nd best in Premier)

Rochester Rhythm GM Dicey has crafted a dominant franchise just 3 weeks in. The rosters he created are 8-1 in series, 26-13 in games, and are averaging 2.32 goals per game and 1.74 goals against per game.

Week 3 also saw 4 different teams pick up their first win of the season, leaving only 4 teams who have yet to pick up a win in Season 5.

This week also saw 7 different trades happen as teams look to find a free agent to help them succeed. BubblyReaper was the pickup of the week posting a dominant score line in the Miracles 3-0 win over the Flyers. The Rookie posted 542 points per game, 1.67 goals per game, 45.5% shooting, and 2.0 saves per game, stats that were top 3 among all leagues!

In Rising Star we've seen a number of Season 5 rookies put up impressive weeks but so far Tyrant has been Mr. Consistent for the Victory. Across 3 weeks he's put up 449 points per game, 1.25 goals per game, 34.1% shooting and 1.33 saves per game en route to a 2-1 start.

In his return to MNCS action Calster hasn't missed a beat starting the season 4-0 through 3 weeks including a game at the Premier level.

In the meantime, Jackz has spent more time than anyone else on the field starting 6 matches so far including all 3 as captain of Maulers Rising Star and 3 as a sub for Maulers Challenger, going 3-3 across those appearances.

Thanks for checking out Cabbage's Corner and hope to see you back next week!

Overtime Spotlights

Every week we will highlight some of the invaluable players, teams, and staff that make up the incredible MNCS community!

This week’s player spotlight:

Player: Wastee

Team: St. Cloud Flyers Rising Star Age: 22

Location: Burnsville

Hours in game: 2,024

Controller of choice: Xbox!

Favorite game besides RL?: Mount & Blade: Warband

Car of Choice: Octane

Game mode of choice: 3’s

Favorite show: Tokyo Ghoul Favorite sports team: Minnesota Vikings

If there was only one thing that you wanted the league to know about you, what would that be? I really just like to enjoy gaming, whether it’s competitive or casual, whoever or wherever.

Tell us about your history in MNCS: I’ve been around since the founding. I first joined MNRL after learning about it at one of the PlayerUp events back before COVID. I started out as just a player but decided I wanted to get more involved as the community continued to grow and I have loved every moment of it.

Past teams:

S1 Alexandria Monarchs

S2 White Bear Lakers

S3 Duluth Spirit

S4 Burnsville Embers

How do you feel going into Season 5? We’ve been struggling to find our stride a bit, but when we’re on I think we’re unbeatable.

Do you have any “rivals” in the league? Which players are you excited to face this season? I wouldn’t say any specific rivals but I always like playing against sbaves and the rest of the boosty boys. Going back to season 2 it’s been a common matchup.

What do you think separates your team from the rest of the league? What about your franchise? Last season Blake, Slaypanther and I thought we had what it took to win it all. Now bringing Blake back we’re out for redemption. We want to win and our teammate Maleficent is a great fit to bring along. We know we can be at the top, we just need to prove it. As far as our franchise it’s super helpful having Prussia and some of the other gamers to help out.

Thank you for reading MNCS Overtime! Big thanks to our awesome OT staff Caesar, Freight Cabbage, IntoAudacity, Isodor, & Wastee! We’ll see you next week with more MNCS updates!
