Cabbage's Corner - Regular Season Wrap-Up
League highlights compiled weekly by the illustrious Freight Cabbage
We've finished 11 Weeks of MNCS action and as we head into playoffs let's take a look at some season accolades:
Defense Wins Championships: This age old saying rang true this season with 4 teams keeping opponents below 2.00 goals per game. All 4 of those teams finished top 2 in their leagues with a direct spot at LAN. Atlas Premier, Rhythm Challenger, Rhythm Rising Star, and Flyers Challenger were the 4 squads to accomplish this task.
Dicey the Dominant GM: The Rochester Rhythm were this season's most successful franchise under the guidance of Dicey. His Challenger team finished first, and his Premier and Rising Star teams both finished second. His teams posted a record of 25-8 in series, with the Maulers coming up second at 21-12 and Flyers third at 20-13.
Strong Finishers: 5 teams finished on win streaks of 4 or more weeks. The current leaders are Atlas Premier and Senators Rising Star who both have won 5 consecutive weeks, while the Maulers Challenger, Maulers Rising Star, and Miracles Premier have all won 4 in a row.
Rocket League All Day: 3 players this season played in 60+ games across 11 weeks (averaging over a series per week!). AlphaLag appeared in 63 games, winning 44.4% of them. He was followed by Doty and Schmorky who both appeared in 62 games with win rates of 53.2% and 40.3% respectively. All Gas No Brakes: Fuego had the pedal to the metal all season with 2806.8 Boost Collected per game, followed up by Zer0Vibes (2790.9) and Purg (2777.7). Fuego and Purg also led the league in boost stolen per game with Fuego first at 685.7, BubblyReaper coming second at 681.9, and Purg third at 662.7.
Mannfield Menace: Sonny led all MNCS players in demos per game this season at 2.90, with Gregor Samsa making his mark at 2.26 per game, and Caesar clearing the way averaging 2.23.
Stressful Series: Our final week of action saw 6 series go to game 5 including 3 matchups at the Premier level. Make sure to tune into the post season as we see teams fight for a spot at LAN.
Sneak Peak: Keep your eye on the MNCS discord for a playoff bracket prediction that will be released before the first playoff match begins!

If there was only one thing that you wanted the league to know about you, what would that be? Never count a team out until the end. You can always turn your season around
Tell us a bit about your history in MNCS: I started in Season 3 with the Hibbing Rovers and took home 1st with Caleb and TrevorG. Season 4 was on the Duluth with Jes.ta and MeanVoltage. Rough start 0-7 then picked MeanVoltage up for a 10-1 run. Lost in playoffs in +8:30 OT against St. Cloud (Benny scored on me). And now onto my 3rd season with Minnetonka
Past teams: Hibbing Rovers, Duluth Twins, Minnetonka Barons Rising Star
Do you have any “rivals” in the league? I'd say mostly any of my previous teammates and also Benny for scoring the OT goal on me.
What do you think separates your team from the rest of the league? What about your franchise? For our team, we get in a good amount of practice weekly. We know how to stay calm in some rough situations and when we feel pressured. I'd say we have more composure than most teams on defense. But our franchise is just the best with GM Tibbles. He really stayed involved in the 3 leagues. He watches in on scrims and gives advice so we can understand what to do and what not to do in certain situations. Huge credits to our Premier and Challenger teams as well, they are the top dogs. From the get go, it has been a solid franchise and whenever any of us need help they are there. Gooo Barons!
Thank you for reading MNCS Overtime! Big thanks to our awesome OT staff Freight Cabbage, Caesar, Isodor, & Wastee! We’ll see you back after play-offs with more MNCS updates!
