Overtime Spotlights
Every week we will highlight some of the invaluable players, teams, and staff that make up the incredible MNCS community!
This week’s player spotlight:
Player: Lord
Team: Hibbing Rangers Challenger
Age: 24
Location: Cannon Falls, MN
Hours in game: At least 1200 hours (has too many alts to keep track :D )
Controller type: Xbox One Controller, “the stick drift is real”
Favorite Game Besides Rocket League: Red Dead Redemption 2
Car of Choice: “Octane Baby”
Boost or Ball: “Can’t hit the ball with no boost baby”
Game Mode of Choice: Standard
Lord has been in the MNCS community for several years, but did not become active until Season 4. Coming in as a sleeper 3rd round pick, he was drafted to the St. Cloud Flyers Challenger roster (previously known as the St. Cloud Jets) alongside teammates Caesar and Elephant. While Lord was on the roster, the Jets comfortably held the undisputed 2nd place spot throughout the regular season. His most notable stats from last season were:
Had the 2nd Highest Goals per game (1.06 per game, 49 Games Played)
Averaged 390 points per game (8th)
67% Match Win Rate, 61.2 % Game Win Rate
When asked about how he feels about this upcoming season, Lord couldn’t be more excited:
“I think we have a good team with Saber and Theo. They’re both cracked and I can’t wait to see how far we go.”
Lord believes his team “is the fastest in challenger” and thinks that this will help his team to dominate the competition this season.
As far as what Lord views as his team’s biggest obstacle this season, “I do want to beat the St. Cloud team. I think they’re our biggest competition. No offense to any other team. I think every single one of these challenger teams has a good chance if they make it to LAN.”
Lord is confident that his team can climb that mountain and attributes a lot of that confidence to his GM and coach, Tero, one of the founders of MNCS. “I think Tero is one of the best coaches in the league which is a huge advantage in my opinion.” This author couldn’t agree more.
Tune every Friday Night to see Lord in action as the Hibbing Rangers Challenger squad fights for the Season 5 championship title!
